Q&A: Every morning I throw up trying to burp! What’s wrong, and how can I stop it?

Question by BioBlade: Every morning I throw up trying to burp! What’s wrong, and how can I stop it?
Okay, here’s the deal. Every morning, the SECOND I crawl out of bed and stand upright, I have to rush to the bathroom. It feels like I’ve got a burp stuck in my chest, and i can’t get it up. Usually I end up vomiting, but oddly, there isn’t any burning involved. No acid, no issues with my stomach, just what I last ate coming up. Usually I’ve only had water first, so water is all that comes up. What’s wrong, and how can I stop it? I’ve been told by some that it’s probably “acid reflux“, but all the descriptions talk about stomach acid and burning burps…..but these don’t burn.

Oh, and I DO tend to burp a lot, and I really have to work to get some of them out. I also, on VERY rare occasions, get struck by horrible, burning chest pains. Are these maybe related?
