Does anyone feel heartburn pain in their back?

Question by thatdrummerguy42: Does anyone feel heartburn pain in their back?
I’m not even sure if what I was experiencing was heartburn…which is why I’m posting this question. I felt it directly in the middle of my sternum and it burned, but I could also feel it in my back, directly between my shoulder blades. It was as though a burning rod was being ran through my body. It felt as thought leaning back and “popping” my back would relieve it. Also, forcing myself to burp seemed to relieve the pain. I wasn’t burping up gas, but rather inhaling deeply and burping that inhaled air out (does that make sense?). I never really associated it with eating, but I have unhealthy and irregular eating habits anyway, so I suppose it could have been.

Anyone experience anything like this?

How do I make my throat stop burning?

Question by : How do I make my throat stop burning?
I don’t know why it does this, my only assumption is the things that I eat, but every now and then my throat will start feeling like it’s burning on the inside. I imagine this is what heartburn is like, only it’s in my throat, not my chest, just below the adam’s apple. It’s happening to me right now and no matter how much water I drink the feeling won’t go away. I’d like to know if anyone knew what this was or what it is caused by (so I can avoid making it worse), and how I can treat it, preferably with a “home remedy”.

It simply feels like a burning sensation on the inside of my throat. Drinking water helps very temporarily, only taking effect when it passes the part that feels like its burning. The intensity is starting to die down now, but it’s quite painful and annoying. Not enough to make you cry or anything, on a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the worst pain, I’d say it’s probably only about a 4, however since there’s no way to make it stop or feel better and it’s been lasting for the past hour it gets really old really fast.

Thank you!

Q&A: Four pregnancy questions all in one?

Question by ThisIsME ?: Four pregnancy questions all in one?
So I only have 6 more weeks to go. Woo! And I have a few different questions so I figured I’d put them all in one big question for you all :)

1. Braxton Hicks contractions. My mom said she had gotten them around 30 weeks with my younger sister and me. I haven’t gotten any at all. (I’m about 34 weeks) Is this normal? Do some people get them and others don’t? Will my birth be harder because my uterus isn’t “practicing”?

2. I have had a really easy pregnancy. I never had any morning sickness or anything like it. But I have the worst heartburn ever! I don’t really want to take any drugs unless I absolutely HAVE to. Is there anyone out there who found another remedy for heartburn that doesn’t involve Tums, pepto bismol, etc.?

3. I also have horrible insomnia lately. Usually I can sleep like a log, but lately no matter what I do I can’t fall asleep! Did anyone out there find a “cure” to pregnancy insomnia?

A Heartburn Cure – A Change For The Good

Article by Gilbey Scott

If you are wondering about a heartburn cure, you may be thinking about those antacids you’ve been taking and how suitable there are for long term use. For the most common causes of heartburn, over eating and acidic diet, the antacids you are taking are not the heartburn answer. These products don’t promise to be a heartburn cure. In fact the jolt they put into the body are most likely too much or too little. So rather than continue the cycle, why not make a healthy change that really is a cure?

The geometry of the stomach is one of the common causes of heartburn. The angle the food pipe attaches to the stomach can cause problems when you over indulge. Once full, the pressure of the diaphragm will force the food and acid out of the stomach and into the food pipe where damage can occur. Repeated episodes can result in erosion of the esophageal lining.

Not all of heartburn’s symptoms have to be noticeable to qualify for a heartburn rescue plan. Besides the usual symptom of pain behind the breastbone, that can occur during a meal, there are other equally telling signs. These could include a ssour taste in the mouth, excessive burping or belching, a hoarse cough or an uncomfortable tightness from the diaphragm.
